Vacant position as Trade Advisor maternity cover

The Royal Danish Embassy in Budapest is looking to hire a dynamic Trade Advisor to join the Embassy Trade Council team (TC Budapest) for a fixed term of one year (maternity cover).

The main objective of the Trade Council in Budapest is to promote Danish commercial interests in Hungary. We create value for Danish companies and support their export activities in Hungary.

Main tasks and responsibilities as Trade Advisor

• Market studies and market entry strategies of Danish businesses;
• Partner and customer searches in different segments;
• Gaining in-depth knowledge of doing business in Hungary, Denmark and Central Europe – including travel in Hungary, the CEE region and Denmark;
• Stakeholder management and supporting public affairs activities of Danish companies;
• Organizing and participating in business meetings and meetings with Hungarian authorities;
• Maintaining good Hungarian-Danish business relations;
• Briefings about selected economic sectors;
• Active participation in business development;
• Delegation trips to/from Denmark to share knowledge and promote Danish solutions etc.

Required qualifications

• Relevant academic education (Economics, Business, International Relations, etc.)
• Relevant previous work experience, for example business development, international trade, consultancy or public affairs.
• Knowledge of and interest in Hungarian and Danish business relations and economy;
• Strong language and communication skills
• Analytical sense, care and ability to oversee complicated issues quickly;
• Enterprising, outgoing and good at networking;
• Desire to be part of a team, but also the ability to work independently;
• Good spirits - even when things are hectic and busy.

Desired qualifications

• Knowledge of one or more of the following sectors is preferred: energy, pharmaceutics, healthcare.
• Knowledge of any Scandinavian language would also be an advantage, but not a requirement.

Employment conditions

This is a local employment in Hungary in accordance with Hungarian labour law. The weekly working time is 37 hours, but flexible working hours must be expected.
